The Affirming Place acknowledges the Gugungin people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Country on which we meet, work, and play on. We acknowledge their ongoing connection to land, skies, and waterways, and pay deep respects to Elders both past and present. We honour First Nation’s peoples as the first healers and listeners on these lands and honour their cultural and spiritual ways of being, knowing, doing, and healing.

The Affirming Place recognises our Queer Elders who have paved the way before us. We acknowledge their sacrifices, persistence, advocacy, and determination for future generations to live without opposition or oppression. We honour our Queer Elders and recognise the significant and ongoing efforts of Queer People of Colour.
