Welcome to The Affirming Place

The Affirming Place is a private counselling practice located in Beenleigh on stolen Gugungin Country. At The Affirming Placce we celebrate diversity, build on strengths, promoting autonomy, and empower people across the lifespan.

The Affirming Place was built to create a safer space for everyone! A place where stimming and fidgeting is encouraged. Where asking questions and challenging social norms is supported. Where neurodiversity is celebrated and affirmed. Where queereness is not only tolerated or accepted, but affirmed. Where cultural differences are rich and powerful and cultural wisdom is respected. Where age is seen as an integral part of our history, not just a number or a steryotype. Where deviation from the norm is seen as normal. Where differences are celebrated. And where people are seen as the professionals in their own lives, bringing rich histories, knowledge, and skills to the counselling space.

The Affirming Place empowers you to build upon your strengths, feel proud of your unique qualities, celebrate your diversity, and embrace the authentic you.

At The Affirming Place we specialise in supporting children, parents, adults, and older adults navigating identity, life transitions, grief and loss, neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ complexities and queerness, chronic illness, disability, burnout, anxiety, big feelings, and complex trauma.

Providing holistic and individualised counselling support, The Affirming Place is here to walk alongside you!

Allyship

The Affirming Place is allied with queer, neurodivergent, disabled, fat, feminist, First Nation, CALD, kink, polyamorous and non monogamous people, and those that are curious, questioning, or experimenting.
